When was the club founded?

The Cheshire Academy pre-school gymnastics club is an award winning club which was founded in 1993. The club is fully integrated and welcomes children with Special Needs and disabilities.

What age do the children begin?

Classes are structured for children aged 18 months or older, however classes are split into two specific age groups-18 months to 3 years and 3 years to school age.In the 18 months to 3 years class a parent, grandparent, mum or dad must accompany the child however in the 3 years and upwards class the child can be left with the qualified coaches.

All classes are run by fully qualified British Gymnastics Pre-school Gymnastics Coaches qualified to Class 3 level (the highest qualification possible).

All coaches are CRB checked and strictly follow governing body guidelines regarding working with children.

These classes are also run by fully qualified Special Needs coaches qualified to British Gymnastics Class 3 level (the highest level possible).

Are classes fully integrated?

All the pre-school classes are fully integrated Children with and without disabilities play and learn together following our fun filled pre-school programmes. Children with downs syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, learning disabled, delayed development and children with no diagnosis at present ,work closely with children who have no disabilities. Because of the high levels of special needs and child development qualifications held by our staff we are able to provide individual programmes for children with disabilities which ensures that the children can work to their maximum potential.

What happens when children go to school?

The Academy provides other classes suitable for children of school age. (See our other special needs gymnastics classes for older children.)
