 With only 2 weeks notice, the Cheshire Academy fielded a team of rhythmic and artistic gymnasts for the British Gymnastics "North West Regional Gymnastics competition" held at Edge Hill College in Ormskirk .
The Academy managed to return with a record 14 "All Round Champions" more than all the other gymnastics clubs in the North West put together.
Academy co-director Jane Whetnall was pleased with the success of the Rhythmic and Artistic gymnasts who had competed at the competition.
 "With such little notice about the competition the Academy was restricted as to the number of gymnasts it could take. We could take only a small group of 23 gymnasts however we felt that it was only fare to select a cross section of gymnasts covering a range of different ages, abilities who work at different levels "
For the Artistic competition the Academy entered 14 gymnasts covering levels A, 1 and 2 and in the Rhythmic gymnastics section entered 9 gymnasts covering levels A (wheelchair) and level 1.
In total the Academy won 27 Gold, 12 silver and 3 bronze medals. In the 'all round' competition the Academy collected 13 all round titles with 6 all round runner up titles and 1 bronze all round title.
