Club History
The Blue Blazers Football is a football club specifically for children and young adults with physical, sensory or learning disabilities. It was established in Crewe during 2002 and draws members from all over Cheshire. We attract members from Crewe and Nantwich, Congleton and Macclesfield Boroughs as well as Vale Royal and Chester. The club is part of Crewe "football in the Community"
Who does the club cater for?
The club caters for boys and girls with a whole range of disabilities and has within its ranks members who are autistic, have cerebral palsy, downs syndrome, a range of learning disabilities, as well as children with ADHD and associated types of behaviour difficulties.
Sessions are structured round a number of principles -the development of basic football skills, enhancing fitness and cardiovascular health, developing overall body coordination and balance, developing confidence and awareness and most importantly highlighting the enjoyment that football can bring.

Experience has taught us that children with disabilities can feel isolated from the community and one of the important roles of the club is to develop a sense of community where children and young adults have the opportunity to make and meet new friends.
Child protection and Qualification.
All coaches have attended disability awareness courses and have been fully CRB police checked. Coaches are also qualified to the appropriate governing body standards
Where do we train?
Although the club is based at the Cheshire Academy of Integrated Sports and Arts in Crewe, we train at the Cumberland Sports Arena every Saturday mornings and early afternoons, and Tuesday evenings.
During summer 2005, the Cumber land arena will be facing a major face lift with three brand new artificial pitches being layed as well as a state of thew art football pitch in the centre of the Running track. During this period the Blue Blazers will be training at Shavington Sports Centre in Crewe
Team Successes
During 2004, the Blue Blazers were representatives of Crewe and Nantwich Borough at the Cheshire youth Games where our 7-a-side disability team were tournament winners.

Our work continues...
During 2005 the club hopes to increase its membership and the number of qualified staff. We are keen to attract more females with disabilities.
We are also keen to get a local sponsor who would be willing to help with the purchase of kit for our teams and our members and be part of this exciting and wonderful disabilities team.
